      Miele ventures into the production of automobiles

      Spurred on by their initial success, the founding fathers venture into the production of motorcars. Between 1912 and 1914, a total of 143 cars are sold at prices between 5100 and 7900 marks. In view of the extensive capital investments required, Miele is soon to divest itself of this line of business.
