Fault F82

Fault F82 appears on the coffee machine display.

The brew unit has not been sufficiently cleaned.

Clean the brew unit manually. The moving parts of the brew unit are lubricated. Cleaning agents will damage the brew unit. Only clean the brew unit by hand with warm water. Do not use any cleaning agents. Remove and clean the brew unit once a week. Also clean the area below the brew unit once a week.

The brew unit must be cleaned manually in addition to the automatic cleaning. A cleaning tablet may be required to degrease the brew unit even if the cleaning cartridge is fitted.

Proceed as follows:

  • Open the appliance door.

  • Remove the water container.

  • Press the button on the bottom of the brew unit handle (1).

  • While doing so, turn the handle forward (2).

  • Pull the brew unit sideways first (1).

  • Then slide it out forward (2).

  • Tilt the brew unit forward (3).

  • Once you have removed the brew unit, do not change the position of the handle on the brew unit. Otherwise the brew unit cannot be reinserted.

  • Clean the brew unit by hand under warm running water without using cleaning agent.

  • Rub away any residual coffee from the filters. One filter is located in the funnel. The other filter can be found to the left of the funnel.

  • Dry the funnel to prevent ground coffee sticking to it the next time a coffee is made.

  • Clean the interior of the coffee machine.

  • Use your vacuum cleaner to remove dry ground coffee.

Manual descaling has not been carried out correctly or at all.

Manual descaling must be carried out with 2 descaling tablets in addition to automatic descaling. Manual descaling is not carried out via the descaling cartridge.

You will need 2 descaling tablets. Carry out the manual descaling process as follows:

  • Fill the water container to the mark with lukewarm water.

  • Drop 2 descaling tablets in the water.

  • Follow the instructions for the mixing ratio for the descaler carefully. If you put more or less water in the water container, the descaling process will be cut short.

  • Reinsert the water container.

  • Follow the additional instructions given in the display.

  • When Rinse water container appears on the display, remove the water container and rinse it thoroughly with clean water.

  • Ensure that no descaling solution residue remains in the water container.

  • Fill the water container to the mark with fresh drinking water.

The descaling process is complete when the drinks menu appears.

The water hardness is set too low.

Setting the water hardness too low may lead to limescale forming in the appliance earlier than expected. Your local water authority will be able to tell you the hardness of the water in your area.

Proceed as follows to set the right water hardness:

  • Select the Settings menu.

  • Select the Water hardness option.

  • Enter your local water hardness (in gpg (°dH)).

  • Confirm with OK.
