Burner does not ignite

The gas cooktop burner does not ignite.

The burner is not properly assembled.

Assemble the burner correctly.

Consult the operating instructions for further information.

The burner is wet, dirty, or clogged.

Please ensure that the burner is clean and dry.

If necessary, clean the burner parts and the area around the ignitor on the base of the burner in accordance with the operating instructions. Pay particular attention to the openings/holes in the burner cap.

The gas shut-off valve is closed.

Open the gas shut-off valve fully.

The cooktop power supply has been interrupted.

Check whether the electrical plug of the appliance is plugged in.

The electronic has switched to a “safe state” (depending on model).

Disconnect the cooktop from the power supply for 1 minute, either by unplugging the electrical plug or by turning off the relevant breaker in the breaker box.

Then switch the appliance back on again.

Gas cooktops with a propane gas connection: The gas cylinder is empty.

Change the gas cylinder. New gas cylinders are available from any standard hardware store.

After changing the gas cylinder, check both the cylinder and the gas connections for leaks.
