Cooktop does not get hot

The cooktop does not get hot when it is switched on.

Demo mode is activated.

These functions enable the cooktop to be demonstrated in dealer showrooms without heating up.

On cooktops without knobs, the demo mode can be deactivated as follows:

  • Switch the cooktop on.

  • Place an induction-compatible item of cookware on the cooktop.

  • Press the 0 sensor control on any numerical display.

  • Then touch the 0 and 2 sensor controls at the same time for 6 seconds.

On the timer display, dE flashes alternately with On (demo mode activated) or OFF (demo mode deactivated) for a few seconds.

On cooktops with knobs, the demo mode can be deactivated as follows:

  • Turn the knob for the front left cooking zone counterclockwise and hold.

  • Turn the knob for the front right cooking zone twice briefly counterclockwise and then turn counterclockwise and hold until the following appears on the cooking zone display:

    • dE (demo mode activated)

      or

    • 0000 (demo mode deactivated)

Overheating protection has been triggered.

You can start using the cooking zones again as soon as they have cooled down to a safe level. If the overheating protection is triggered relatively frequently, contact Miele Service.

There may be a technical fault.

Turn the knob to 0.

Disconnect the cooktop from the electricity supply for approx. 1 minute as follows:

  • Turn off the relevant breaker or screw the fuse out completely.

  • Turn off the residual current device (RCD).

If the cooktop will still not switch on after the RCD or fuse has been turned on or reinstalled, contact a qualified electrician or Miele Service.

There is no power to the cooktop.

Check if the breaker has tripped. Contact a qualified electrician or Miele Service (for the minimum protection rating; see the data plate).
