The metal components have a protective coating. Using the cooktop for the first time causes odors and – sometimes – vapors. The material from which the induction coils are made also gives off an odor in the first few hours of operation.
With each subsequent use, the odors are reduced until they disappear completely. The odors and any vapors do not indicate a faulty connection or a faulty appliance and are not harmful to your health.
