Support for yourCooktop

u_ on the display

u_ is displayed for a cooking zone on the induction cooktop.

No cookware has been placed on the cooking zone.

Place a suitable item of cookware on the cooking zone that you have switched on.
Suitable cookware is made of:

  • stainless steel with a magnetic base

  • enameled steel

  • cast iron

Additional information can be found in the linked video.

The cookware is not suitable for induction cooktops.

Unsuitable cookware is made of:

  • stainless steel without a magnetic base

  • aluminum, copper

  • glass-ceramic/ceramic, earthenware, stoneware

If you are unsure whether a pot or pan is suitable for use on an induction cooktop, you can carry out the test described below. Hold a magnet to the base of the pan. If the magnet sticks, the dishware is suitable.

The cookware is too small.

To ensure optimum use of the cooking zone, select a pot or pan that is large enough to fill the space between the innermost and outermost cooking zone markings. If the pan is smaller than the innermost marking, the induction process will not work. The cooking zone will behave as if no cookware has been placed on it.
