Dishwasher smells

The dishwasher smells bad and there are deposits and small particles of dirt on the wash items.

If food residue or dirty dishware is stored in the dishwasher for prolonged periods of time, bad odors can develop.

Do not store dirty dishware in the dishwasher for prolonged periods.

Run a rinse/quick wash cycle every few days, even if the dishwasher is not full.

This will stop the dishware from smelling bad.

Frequent use of low-temperature wash programs (< 120°F/50°C) increases the risk of bacterial contamination and odors inside the wash cabinet.

Run the “Pots & Pans” program (if available) or the “Clean Machine” program (if available) once per month to clean the wash cabinet and prevent odors from developing.

After using the dishwasher, leave the door and the detergent dispenser open slightly to allow them to dry.

Build-up of odors from dishwashers that have been in operation for a long period of time.

Clean the door seals with a damp cloth (use a small amount of dishwasher conditioner if necessary).

Clean the filter.

Check that the inlet hose and the drain hose have been installed correctly.
