Dishwasher smells

The dishwasher smells bad and there are deposits and small particles of dirt on the wash items.

If food residue or dirty dishware is stored in the dishwasher for prolonged periods of time, bad odors can develop.

Do not store dirty dishware in the dishwasher for prolonged periods.

Run a program every few days, even if the dishwasher is not full.

This will stop the dishware from smelling bad.

The frequent use of low-temperature wash programs (< 122°F/50°C) increases the risk of bacteria and odors inside the wash cabinet.

Regularly run a high-temperature program. This is to prevent contamination and odors.

However, if limescale or grease deposits still occur, use a machine cleaner to clean the appliance. Follow the dosage recommended by the manufacturer on the packaging.

Build-up of odors from dishwashers that have been in operation for a long period of time.

Wipe the door seals regularly with a damp cloth to remove food deposits.

Wipe off any food or drink residues which may have dripped onto the sides of the dishwasher door before closing it.

Clean the filters in the wash cabinet regularly.

Clean the spray arms on a regular basis.

Check that the inlet hose and the drain hose have been installed correctly.
