The ironing board has disengaged even though the tower is not in its lowest position.
To lower the ironing board to the lowest working position, proceed as follows:
Press and hold the release button (1). At the same time, place your hand on the iron rest so that you can press the tower down.
Turn and hold the rotary dial (2) in the direction (arrow symbol).
Push the tower down until it is in the lowest position.
Let go of the rotary dial and then release the release button.
The tower is in the lowest position so that the ironing board can be re-engaged or the steam ironing system can be folded up.
