Baked goods with delicate surfaces in particular, such as sour cream or quark cakes, brown unevenly due to air circulation with Convection Bake. Use the Surround operating mode.
Do not use Rapid PreHeat/Booster when baking sponge cake and cookies. They will brown too quickly on top.
Remove any accessories that are not being used from the oven. Also remove the grease filter from the oven (if present), as this obstructs the flow of air. Only insert the grease filter when broiling or roasting.
Wait for the oven to cool down completely and then carry out the following steps:
Check that the door is properly positioned on its hinges and that the lock is in the correct position. Also check whether the door seal is positioned properly all the way around. Additional information on this can be found in the operating and installation instructions or online on the Miele website.
Ovens with silicone seal: Grease deposits on the door seal can cause it to become brittle and cracked. Remove soiling immediately with warm water, liquid dish soap, and a clean sponge or a clean, damp microfiber cloth. Wipe the seal dry using a soft cloth.
Ovens with fiberglass seal: The sensitive fiberglass seal can be damaged by rubbing or scouring. Avoid cleaning the fiberglass seal.
If the door seal is brittle, cracked, or badly worn, contact Miele Service.
