The refrigeration appliance lighting remains switched on when the door is closed. Some bottom-mount units without LED lighting have a winter setting. The winter setting uses the heat from the bulb. The lighting remains switched on when the door is closed. The fridge interior warms up more quickly, meaning that the compressor is activated more often. This ensures that the food in the freezer compartment does not defrost when the room air is cold.
