Performance has decreased

The cleaning performance of the robot vacuum cleaner has decreased.

The dust box is full.

Empty the dust box of the robot vacuum cleaner.

Emptying the RX2 and RX3 dust box:

To open the storage compartment, press the depression at the top of the robot vacuum cleaner.

Removing | Dust box | RX2/3 robot vacuum cleaner

Unlatch the dust box by lifting the handle upward.

Remove the dust box.

Removing | Lid | Dust box

Press one or both release buttons in the direction of the arrow and remove the dust box lid.

Empty the dust box.

Emptying the RX1 dust box:

Press the dust box release button and remove the dust box.

Remove the lid of the dust box.

Empty the dust box.

The roller brush is dirty.

Switch the robot vacuum cleaner off. The switch is located on the side of the robot vacuum cleaner. Depending on the model, set the I/0 switch to switch position 0 or the ON/OFF switch to switch position OFF.

Cleaning the RX2 and RX3 roller brush:

Clean the roller brush as required. This will require the cleaning tool which is located at the top of the dust box lid.

Place the robot vacuum cleaner upside down on a level, clean surface.

Using both hands, take hold of 2 opposite elastic corner brush holders and pull them upward to remove them.

Unlatch and remove the roller brush cover.

Remove the roller brush.

Pull the bearing cover sideways off the roller brush and remove any threads or hairs that have wound themselves around the bearing.

Reinstall the bearing cover, making sure it clicks into position.

Use a pair of scissors to cut any threads or hairs that have wound themselves around the roller brush.

Remove the threads and hair using the wiper which is located on the bottom of the cleaning tool.

Hold the wiper over a garbage can.

Press the button at the top of the wiper several times until all threads and hair have fallen out.

Reinstall the roller brush with the bearing cover attached. Make sure that the side with the pointed end is inserted into the corresponding slot.

Carefully reinstall the roller brush cover on both sides, making sure it clicks into position.

Press the two corner brushes carefully onto their pins until they audibly engage. Take care to comply with the markings L and R.

Cleaning the RX1 roller brush:

Remove the dust box and place the robot vacuum cleaner upside down on a level, clean surface.

Remove the roller brush cover.

Remove the roller brush.

Take care not to lose the square guide.

Use a pair of scissors to cut any threads or hairs that have wound themselves around the roller brush. To guide the scissors, move along the guide track in the roller.

Remove the threads and hairs with the comb end of the cleaning brush.

Reinsert the roller brush.

Make sure you position the roller brush carefully and that the square guide is attached.

Lock the cover, making sure it clicks into position.

Reinsert the dust box in the robot vacuum cleaner, making sure it clicks into position.

The sealing lips on the dust box are dirty.

Cleaning the RX2 and RX3 dust box sealing lips:

Place the robot vacuum cleaner upside down on a level, clean surface.

Wipe the sealing lips with a damp cloth to clean them.

Cleaning the RX1 dust box sealing lips:

Press the dust box release button and remove the dust box.

Clean the sealing lips on the bottom of the dust box with a damp cloth.

Reinsert the dust box in the robot vacuum cleaner, making sure it clicks into position.

The roller brush has worn out.

In order to continue to achieve the best possible cleaning results, replace the roller brush with a new one after approx. 2 years.

Replace the roller brush, if necessary.

The dust box seal unit has worn out.

In order to continue to achieve the best possible cleaning results, replace the seal unit with a new one after approx. 1 year.

Replacing the seal unit on the RX2 and RX3 dust box:

Remove the dust box.

Unlocking | Seal unit | RX2, RX3 dust box

Unlatch the seal unit from the underside of the dust box so that the arrow points to the  symbol.

Remove the seal unit.

Insert the new seal unit so that the arrow points to the  symbol.

Lock the seal unit, making sure it clicks into position.

Replacing the seal unit on the RX1 dust box:

Remove the dust box.

Unclipping | Sealing lip | RX1 dust box

Unclip the sealing lip from the dust box and carefully twist it out until it detaches from the dust box.

Attach the new sealing lip to the side and clip it into position.

Reinsert the dust box in the robot vacuum cleaner, making sure it clicks into position.

The exhaust filter is dirty.

Clean the exhaust filter.

Replace the exhaust filter.

The Corner Brushes have worn out.

In order to continue to achieve the best possible cleaning results, replace the Corner Brushes with new ones after approx. 1 year.

Replace the corner brushes.

Original Miele accessories are available from the Miele online store, Miele Service, and your Miele dealer.

The battery is empty.

Recharge the robot vacuum cleaner’s rechargeable battery.

The rechargeable battery no longer works and must be replaced.

Replacing the rechargeable battery

Keep a spare original Miele lithium-ion rechargeable battery to hand for your robot vacuum cleaner.

Original Miele accessories are available from the Miele online store, Miele Service, and your Miele dealer.

RX2 and RX3:

The rechargeable battery compartment is located in the robot vacuum cleaner’s storage compartment.

Open the storage compartment.

Remove the dust box.

Open the rechargeable battery compartment by unlatching the cover upward.

RX2/RX3-YCR-M05 (RX2/RX3 60 lithium-ion battery):

  • Removing | Battery | RX2, RX3 robot vacuum cleaner
  • Carefully pull the cords so that the plug connection is pulled out of the slot.

  • Press the latch on the plug connection in order to release the electrical plug.

  • Remove the rechargeable battery.

  • Inserting | Battery | RX2, RX3 robot vacuum cleaner
  • Insert the electrical plug of the new rechargeable battery into the counterpart, making sure it clicks into place.

  • Insert the rechargeable battery carefully, making sure it is properly positioned (see right section of figure).

  • Store the plug connection in the side slot.

RX2/RX3-YCR-MT12 (RX2/RX3 120 lithium-ion battery for Runner and Home Vision):

  • Removing | Battery | Runner Home Vision
  • Carefully remove the rechargeable battery using the tab until the plug connection is exposed.

  • Press the latch on the plug connection in order to release the electrical plug.

  • Remove the rechargeable battery.

  • Inserting | Battery | Runner Home Vision
  • Insert the electrical plug of the new rechargeable battery into the counterpart, making sure it clicks into place.

  • Store the plug connection in the side recess.

  • Insert the rechargeable battery carefully, making sure it is properly positioned (see right section of figure).

Closing | Battery compartment | RX2 RX3 robot vacuum cleaner

Carefully reinstall the cover of the rechargeable battery compartment and close it, making sure that it clicks into place.

Dispose of the battery at a suitable waste collection/recycling center.

RX1 (YCR-M05):

Place the robot vacuum cleaner upside down on a level, clean surface.

Do not lift the robot vacuum cleaner by the area around the dust box, as it can come loose.

Unscrew the cover of the rechargeable battery compartment on both sides with a cross-tip screwdriver.

Carefully remove the battery. Press the latch on the plug connection in order to release the electrical plug.

Inserting | Battery | RX1 robot vacuum cleaner

Insert the new rechargeable battery.

Close the battery compartment cover and tighten the screws.

Dispose of the battery at a suitable waste collection/recycling center.

A software fault has occurred.
