Fault F66

Fault F66 appears in the tumble dryer display.

Lint filters are soiled.

Clean the lint filters.

Lint has accumulated in the heat exchanger.

Carefully vacuum up any visible lint or soiling.

The plinth filter in front of the heat exchanger is soiled.

Figure 1

To remove the plinth filter, press the round, indented area on the heat exchanger access panel to open it; see Fig. 1.

Figure 2

Pull the plinth filter out by the handle; see Fig. 2.

Figure 3

Pull the handle out of the plinth filter; see Fig. 3.

Clean the plinth filter thoroughly under running water.

Squeeze the water thoroughly out of the plinth filter.

The plinth filter must not be reinserted while it is dripping wet. This can cause a fault.

Use a damp cloth to remove any lint from the handle.

Insert the plinth filter back on the handle, making sure it is the correct way round; see Fig. 3.

First insert the handle with the plinth filter attached over the two guide pins:

The word Miele on the handle must be the correct way up.

Push the plinth filter in completely.

The act of pushing in the plinth filter will also push in the right-hand guide pin.

Close the heat exchanger access panel.

The tumble dryer can only be operated with the plinth filter installed correctly and the heat exchanger access panel closed. The access panel must be closed correctly to ensure that water cannot leak from the condenser system and to ensure that the tumble dryer functions efficiently.

Too much laundry has been placed in the drum and the tumble dryer is overloaded.

Take out some of the laundry.

Start the process again.

The ventilation grille under the door is obstructed.

Remove objects that are obstructing the ventilation grille under the door.

Ventilation to and from the appliance is insufficient (e.g., because it is installed in a small room). This may have caused the temperature in the room to rise sharply.

For condenser dryers, please also note the following:

When drying, open a door or window to ensure sufficient ventilation.

The plinth filter is encrusted.

Figure 4

If too much detergent has been used when washing, white residue may be encrusted on the edges and front of the plinth filter, see Fig. 4.

Wash the plinth filter on its own in the washing machine without any detergent at a max. temperature of 105°F (40°C) at a spin speed of 600 rpm.

The plinth filter is deformed or damaged.

Figure 5

If the plinth filter has not been cleaned properly or is very old, the filter may become deformed or tear, see Fig. 5. The plinth filter no longer sits flush. Lint will get into the heat exchanger without being filtered out.

Replace the plinth filter.
